London X City Website Covers Notting Hill Carnival
August 28, 2017 – – There are many websites that cover London, the capital of the United Kingdom, but none as extensively as what London X City does. They are proud to announce that they are reporting on one of the world’s most famous street parties, which is the Notting Hill Carnival. People are encouraged to click here to read the report on this fantastic event.
London X City’s spokeswoman Chloe says: “The Notting Hill Carnival this year was held on August 27th an 28th, and we were so glad to have covered it. Each year, the Carnival seems to be getting bigger and better, with people now from all over the world coming to the city to visit it. This was surely an event that should not be missed, but for those who were not able to make it, we have the report that will let you feel as if you have been there.”
The Notting Hill Carnival is a yearly street festival, and the biggest of its kind in Europe. The London Notting Hill Carnival Enterprises Trust organizes it, starting each event with the Panorama on Saturday evening. This is a free event in which national steel bands compete deep into the night. On Sunday morning, people can participate in the J’Ouvert, which is when the event really kicks off. This procession takes off before sunrise, and all participants are covered in mud, which is a traditional celebration of the start of the carnival itself. More details about the event can be found on the London X City website at https://www.londonxcity.com.
Chloe adds: “After the J’Ouvert, people can join the Sunday Parade, which is the family day. Here, children take part in fantastic and flamboyant costumes, and they dance in a parade with musical accompaniment from steel bands and mobile sound systems. We are so glad to have been there and take part in the happy events.”
Another key element of the Notting Hill Carnival is the “World Music Stage”, where soca and calypso performances are held, organized by the Association of British Calypsonians and joined by a range of other artists. The Grand Finale is on Monday, when a parade is held with dancers and performers, as well as a range of live and recorded music. More details can be found on londonxcity.com.
