Keyworth United Community Football Club, one of the oldest and most respected football clubs in Nottinghamshire, has announced a new fundraising campaign so that they can acquire their own all weather surface at Platt Lane. After a successful couple of years tidying up administrative functions, the club has decided to improve the facilities, with the help of the FA and local partners.

A number of endeavours have been attended to so that fans can enjoy their time at the club house. There is new, faster Wi-Fi, a wider drinks range at the bar, and different food being served on match days.
BT Sports is on the TV, and the licensed opening hours have increased, helping to ensure that Saturday afternoons will be open so the community can enjoy watching the football results come in. There will also be a small range of merchandising available, to buy at pocket money prices all while supporting the club.
Every penny spent will go towards supporting the club, while everything not supporting the club will now go to the PLG3 surface fund, which is being run by Lucy Shears and Paula Goodband.
There will be a fundraising night to celebrate the start of the 17/18 season, with a night full of 70s and 80s music, and fancy dress partying. The cost of the event will £10 per person, which includes a hog roast and a free drink.
In addition to this, an annual charity football match will be held, in which the staff from the Plough at Normanton will try to hold on to the trophy. They have chosen the British Heart Foundation as their organisation to support, and will also be donating to the 3G pitch raising fund for the club.
Sport England believes that good facilities are fundamental to developing sporting opportunities for everyone, and it’s for this reason that the club is striving to provide the best synthetic turf for its team.
