JR Isham – Chattanooga State Farm Announces New Scholarships

JR Isahm’s office announced the creation of 2 $500 academic scholarships to assist students with the soaring cost of college.

JR Isham’s office today announced the new JR Isham Chattanooga State Farm Insurance Scholarship.

First-year and returning students with a minimum GPA of 3.0, who are legal residents of the U.S., are eligible for one of two $500 scholarships, to reduce college or university tuition costs in the 2018-2019 academic year.

“At State Farm, we value education,” stated the office’s agent/owner, JR Isham.

“We also understand that school can be a significant expense, and we know how hard it can be for students and their hard-working families to make ends meet.”

Students Can Apply Now

The scholarships will be awarded in the Spring, on March 31, 2018, but the JR Isham Chattanooga State Farm Insurance Scholarship page is open for submissions.

“Early in the current semester is the perfect time to apply for some help with next year’s costs,” Isham observed.

Students have until December 31, 2017 to apply. There is no application fee.

“We hope these two scholarships give both a monetary and mental boost to two bright aspiring students,” said Isham.

Yet today’s students struggle to meet expenses for housing, tuition, books, and school supplies. Many students and their parents will find college or university costs rising into the tens of thousands of dollars. In an effort to give back to our community and help promising students attend their chosen college or university, Isham created the new scholarship.

Writing-Enriched Application Process

Scholarship applicants will write an op-ed length essay on the role of insurance in our society.

Students’ written pieces will be assessed on their originality, accuracy, and ability to persuade.
