Interview with Erhan Simavi, owner of TheCheapPlace.com Biker Patches about the upcoming Biketoberbest 2017.
South Daytona, United States – October 2, 2017 /PressCable/ —
Interview with the owner of TheCheapPlace.com Erhan Simavi about the upcoming Biketoberfest event in Daytona Beach. The Biketoberfest Motorcycle Rally takes place October 19th to 22nd this year. It is a weekend event that starts on a Thursday. It’s usually one of the last large Motorcycle Rallies before the close of the season for the winter. Mr. Simavi is hoping for bikers to show up, he doesn’t setup at the show vending to bikers, however, he does supply almost all the vendors with Biketoberfest 2017 patches through the help of his distributors. “Competing with my fellow vendors is not something I want to do. There is no reason to be greedy, we vouched to be an online only store and that is what we are doing. We are very thankful to all our vendor friends who carry and sell our merchandize, the last thing I want to do is setup my own tent to sell next to them. That would just simply be greed even when it’s my hometown show. For me Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest are great opportunities to meet with new patch vendors and take lots of photos of Bikers and their patches. We’ve got a killer design this year, our Biker Guy Skull patch is very popular amongst bikers. We’ve been selling out of this design ever since we introduced it as an event patch 2 years ago. We’ve also got a few Hurricane Irma patches made up which we are hoping to raise money for donation”
When asked about how the event patches work Mr. Simavi replied. “We’ve got distributors who go to vendors and consign the patches. A patch nowadays goes for around $6 a piece at shows. The vendor keeps half and gives the other half to our distributor. Our distributor gets a 25% cut (people usually give 20% to distributors, but I’m a little more generous than the competition). So out of every patch that sells we get about $2.25 per sold patch. I’m not looking to get rich selling event patches, just looking to get new vendors see the quality of my products in hopes to get them to carry our brand name patches. We do sell hassle free patches.”
What are hassle free patches? “They will all iron on. Most people think just because the backing is plastic it must be an iron on patch. This is quite not true. It’s an extra added step to rub heat activated glue on the backside of the plastics. Some vendors are skeptical about trying patches because they’ve had bad experiences trying to iron them on in the past. This is true if you have been ripped off into thinking the patches you bought were iron on. A lot of people cheat. Sure a plastic backing patch can adhere temporarily to a t-shirt if you get it hot enough to melt the plastic on to the shirt. But the true iron on patches don’t melt the plastic at all! It just activates the glue that adheres permanently onto fabrics. You should never trust a patch seller that says, crank the iron to its hottest setting and just press the patch on. The right way of ironing on patches properly is to #1 Use a proper Iron on Patch (like one from Ivamis Trading) #2 get the temperature right 270 Degrees Fahrenheit. Hand pressing for 30 seconds with a household iron works well, if you have a heat press 12 seconds would do the trick. As a patch distributor I cannot emphasize how important the temperature setting must be. Forget about the cotton or silk settings on an iron. You will never get the right temperature that way, it’s all about using a thermometer to get the temp right so the patch will iron on perfectly.”
“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to say a few words. Bikers Ride Safe, Vendors Ride Safe and come see us for all your Patch needs, we even got displays for our patches. We have a warehouse located at South Daytona. Google Search TheCheapPlace.com and we should show up on their maps.”
