New Manager at Music Man in Port St. Lucie, Florida

Music Man Inc in Port St. Lucie has added new management and staff to make music lessons available to more students looking for private one-on-one instruction.

Music Man, a family-owned and operated music business that has been serving South Florida families’ music education needs since 1976, servicing school bands and orchestras and specializing in the sale and rental of band and orchestra instruments from its 3 locations, is pleased to name Alexis Thompson as their new manager at the Port St. Lucie location at 950 Bayshore Blvd.

Alexis holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education with Instrumental Emphasis in French Horn from the University of Florida, and a Masters Degree in Performing Arts Management from the University of Oregon. She has performed with the 2011 Disneyland All American College band in Anaheim California, and was in The United States Navy Fleet Bands for four years. She was stationed in Naples Italy from 2012-2015, performing 250 concerts with the Naval Forces Europe Band in the Woodwind Quintet, Brass Quintet, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and Ceremonial Band. Alexis has worked for several non-profits including The Eugene Symphony, The Vermont Arts Festival, and Singing Creek Educational Center. Alexis has been teaching private lessons for 13 years.

Working closely with recent Minnesota transplant and Lesson Coordinator Linn Kezer, Alexis’ goal is to continue growing the lessons department with well-qualified teachers and an increasing number of students.

Alexis states, “Music provides both intrinsic and extrinsic benefits. Playing music allows us to express our emotions without words, cultivates patience and discipline, improves memory, and builds imagination and intellectual curiosity. Our fantastic lesson teachers provide individualized lesson plans to children and adults of all ages that match each student’s goals and learning style. As a well-established band instrument source for schools and other educational centers, the need in the community is great, and the potential for private lessons here in the Port St. Lucie store has yet to be fully utilized. We are excited about what we have done so far and will be doing in the future.”
