Ammar Jali & Darrin Walls on Helping Disadvantaged Kids Receive Professional Training with Their Passion for Football

PITTSBURGH, PA / ACCESSWIRE / October 2, 2017 / Great things can come from small beginnings. Darrin Walls Foundation teaches children the right skills to hone their ability in playing the game of football. With the help of professional athletes who dedicate their time training these young kids, it is possible that one day, someone from the flock would rise out to become the next Darrin Walls.

Darrin Walls, a professional NFL player has been through some rough times with his career and personal life. Being the son of former NBA and CBA player, Darrin Walls Sr., the younger fellow had to live up to his father’s name. His life journey led him to a life of sports finishing studies as a student athlete and graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology in the University of Notre Dame.

His career as a football player is a rollercoaster ride jumping from one team to another. But his passion for giving back was never mired with such disappointments. In 2015 Darrin started a foundation with the aim to help disadvantaged children and at risk teens. His efforts to engage them in sports provided a strong participation and engagement in his local community.

This year, the foundation is going to host one of its annual events in The Neighborhood Academy. The annual Free Football Camp will start from 10 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on July 9. The event will be highlighted with the football clinic program where kids will be able to learn the basics and advanced skills of football. The training session will be overseen by professional athletes and some of Darrin’s close NFL friends and colleagues.

The foundation’s efforts to get children involved in sports are a way to give them a better future. As getting involved in organized sports can often be expensive and discouraging especially for inexperienced kids, it can be helpful to have philanthropists like Darrin Walls who give back for the blessings they receive.

What the Darrin Walls Foundation has in mind is to create a better future for children and take them away from the harsh realities of living without the means. The organization does not just hold this annual free sports training but has a series of events aimed to make the community’s life easier especially the disadvantaged and ‘at risk’ teeners.

Darrin Walls Foundation also hosts an annual clothing drive the first week of December to donate clothes to local shelters around Pittsburgh, a back to school drive to provide children with their basic school needs, and a scholarship award to deserving local students aiming to get a college degree.
