TummyZen(R) Receives $2.6 Million Bridge Financing

Developer and Manufacturer of a New and Disruptive Fast-acting, Long-lasting, Stomach-Supporting Relief from Occasional Heartburn to Use Proceeds to Expand Retail Distribution and Grow Sales

IRVINGTON, NY / ACCESSWIRE / October 2, 2017 / Eli Consumer Healthcare, developer and manufacturer of TummyZen®, a fast-acting, long-lasting, stomach-supporting relief from occasional heartburn, announced today that it has successfully completed a $2.6 million bridge financing.

TummyZen utilizes patented technology from Yale University’s School of Medicine, which identified an acid suppression therapy that produces a rapid and sustained increase in stomach pH levels, and delivers effective relief from occasional heartburn. The research, originally published in The American Journal of Gastroenterology, has received extensive media coverage, including CBS News, Mother Nature Network (MNN), and ABC Radio.

The proceeds of the financing will be used to expand distribution for TummyZen to over 18,000 retail stores nationwide, including Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Publix, Winn-Dixie, ShopKo, Bed Bath & Beyond/Harmon Drug, and Associated Food Stores. TummyZen is also carried at independent pharmacies supplied by Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen, McKesson, and regional distributors.

“Our distribution continues to grow rapidly as retailers and consumers recognize the convenience and efficiency of a single product that provides fast and sustained relief for occasional heartburn, without the side effects found in many existing products,” stated Peter C. Mann, Chairman of Eli Consumer Healthcare, and former CEO and Chairman of Prestige Brands. “We are on track to add thousands of additional stores over the next six months as retailers roll out their 2018 product resets.”

Hasan Ansari, CEO of Eli Consumer Healthcare, added, “In addition to investments from Yale University’s YEI Investment Fund and the Yale alumni focused Bulldog Innovation group, we are delighted to have investors that include founders and former CEOs of a Fortune 200 CPG company, a Nutraceuticals manufacturer, a global beverages company, and an industry-leading OTC drug company. Additionally, CEOs of a leading consumer electronics marketer, a top ranked dietary supplement company, and a cutting-edge education tech company have invested in the Company, as well. We are pleased to have this vote of confidence from industry leaders, whose experience will further support our emerging growth in our goal to make TummyZen a leading heartburn product.”
