Winnipeg, Canada – November 1, 2017 /PressCable/ —
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In the Month of November , The Civility Center Reminds Us – “Listen Patiently When Others Speak, And Exercise Restraint and Courtesy in Your Communications.”
Internationally renowned as the “go to” organization for anything related to civility, The Civility Center, has created a monthly calendar that includes events, ideas, and inspiration from around the world. The Civility Calendar is available free online with the objective of encouraging people to bring their most kind, most considerate, and most civil self to all their interactions. Each month focuses on a different aspect of civility and its interaction with life, and November is : CIVILITY IN COMMUNICATIONS
Jacqueline Moore, Founder, Kindness Community and incoming Civility Center board member, reflects that, “Words have energy and power. Because of this, they either raise or lower the vibration of good between and among us as we communicate. Communicating with the intention of being kind is essential to bringing our best selves to bear in working together, creating, and ultimately, thriving.”
The message is : Whether its mainstream media, social media, music, or verbal communications in day to day interactions, we are bombarded with bad news, negativity, and incivility. Some of us experience incivility so much that we are almost numb to it. The overall negative tone of communications, profanity, aggression and toxicity impacts our health, our stress levels, and how we interact with each other. Everywhere, every day, each of us can choose what communications we pay attention to, what we repeat or endorse, and how we present ourselves communication wise. This month, challenge yourself to choose positive communications. Turn off, or shut out, all the rest!
Every month includes an affirmation, and for November, the mantra is : “I will listen patiently when others speak, and exercise restraint and courtesy in my communications.”
