Livonia, Michigan, United States – December 23, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Daring Dibbles, a home and kitchen accessories brand based in southeast Michigan, announces the newest addition to their product line: The Bento.
Styled after traditional Japanese bento lunch boxes, The Bento aims to maximize lunch or snack-packing space while also being slim enough to fit in an everyday bag.
“This product is for people concerned about portion control while also understanding this will not be the last meal of the day,” says C. Alan Allshouse, Director of Product Development for Daring Dibbles. “With that in mind, The Bento’s two trays can hold about 5.5 cups of food. We find this amount of food to be substantial and satisfying.”
Traditional bento meals use leftovers – think Takeout. Inside, one may find an array of vegetable, rice or other grain, and protein. Used in this way, The Bento allows ample room to pack a lunch or midday snack.
Of note are the five-inch clasps on either side of the lunch box. This unique feature allows the lid to securely close by engaging the built-in rubber seal. Allshouse added, “We want to give our customers peace of mind with this feature. We found other bentos use an elastic strap to secure the lid to the stackable food trays. In our product testing, we found the elastic strap a clumsy method of closing the container which also allowed food to leak everywhere. We are happy with the efficiency that the locking clasps produce.”
The Bento is BPA free and constructed with heavy-duty plastic to maintain durability. It is also leak-resistant and the food trays are microwave-safe with a 3-minute recommended re-heating time. Included with the lunch box are a fork and spoon which fit into a built-in layer of the design. The top tray has a removable divider that allows the user to separate food items.
Currently available in a light green color the company named, “Lime-A-Licious,” the product stands out among its other lunch box cohorts. Daring Dibbles plans to release a more conservative, monochrome color option in early 2018, a color they are calling, “Groovy Grey.”
The Bento is only available on Amazon.com at this time.
