Keiser University’s Latin American offsite campus in Nicaragua recently unveiled its new Social Hub and a complete infrastructure update of the San Marcos site’s front entrance. The renovated area houses a coffee shop, bookstore, bank and a convenience store that serves not only the campus community, but also the surrounding city. It also features a centralized terrace for cultural events, such as concerts and poetry readings.

Keiser University Founder and Chancellor, Dr. Arthur Keiser joined Campus President Matthew Anderson, local dignitaries, business leaders, faculty, staff and students for the occasion.

Donations of more than $320,000 (10 million Nicaraguan Córdobas) from community members, local government and the private sector were invested in improvements that provide a modern look to the campus entrance.

“As part of the improvement process, we have created spaces that positively impact not only our students, but also contribute to the social and economic development of San Marcos and the Carazo region,” Dr. Arthur Keiser said.

The university offers more than 100 degrees from associate through doctorates, both on campus and online. The most popular courses at the Latin American campus are Business Administration, Political Science, Psychology, Software Engineering and Information Systems Management.

“Our campus here provides an excellent international higher education curriculum in a multicultural environment with professors educated at prestigious American universities,” Anderson said. “This is an advantage that many other universities in this region do not have.”

The Latin America campus currently has students from Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia, and Venezuela, as well as from the United States, Russia and South Korea.
