Foil stamping, a commercial printing process, is the application of metallic or pigmented foil on to a solid surface by application of a heated die onto foil, making it permanently adhere to the surface below leaving the design of the die. Metallic foils are now made of aluminium or tin, and are combined with a colour layer to produce the desired effect. For designers, this is a much-loved development, giving you a wider choice of colours.

Laserfoil Design and Print is a family owned business and was bought in 2009 by Tim and Melissa Morris. They have increased the production facilities by adding hot foil stamping, digital colour printing, letterpress printing, spot UV overlay and offset printing. New equipment had to be introduced for the new processes which include a FoilMax foil printer and Heidelberg platens for letterpress embossing and die cutting.

Specialist staff are required to produce the quality product that Laserfoil Printing and Design’s customers have specifically been known for. Customers always receive a warm welcome and enjoy the relaxed friendly way in which their requirements are discussed and the valuable advice given by staff with years of experience.

The satisfaction of seeing a digital design come to life when printed and foiled keeps the staff energized and eager to tackle the next challenge. A simple business card can look instantly impressive with a dash of bronze foil, and a silver sheen has the magical ability to make somebody choose one product over another, based on the packaging design alone.

Foils come in a wide range of colours and for the customer choosing the foil is probably the most exciting part of the foiling process. Metallic foils replicate the look of precious metals, such as gold, silver, or copper. These are considered standard by most printers, but customers can also request orders for other metallic foils, like rose gold or metallic colours like red and blue.

The introduction of Hot Foil Stamping by Laserfoil Design and Print has been a winner and added a process which complements the other services that they provide.
