How a Simple Idea Changed Lives: A Look into the Legacy of Don Forman
LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESSWIRE / November 7, 2018 / Don Forman is a very accomplished businessman owning the Lakada Wine Cellar, a Nissan store in Vegas, and a Nissan dealership store in Southern California. Given his immense achievement in the business world, it’s hard to believe that someone as busy and as established like him can notice and can give ample attention to his needy and less fortunate neighbors.
For most businessmen and companies engaged in sales, getting profit might be their primordial concern, hence, everything that they do, even the acts of goodwill they sponsor, are all geared towards getting more profit.
Empathy and Kindness Come First
This is not the case for Don Forman, though. For him, empathy and kindness come first.
In the mass shooting that happened at Route 91 Harvest festival last year, after hearing about the unfortunate incident, Don sent all his staff, on board his fleet of vehicle to go to the site and offer help to the victims and their families. That time, they weren’t thinking about selling or about how to raise their revenue. It was simply because Don felt the need of the victims and the community. You see, a compassionate human being can always set aside his personal goals and choose to be of service to those in need.
5 Years of Sharing Kindness
This is not the only instance when Don Forman showed an act of kindness. As a matter of fact, it’s been almost 5 years since Don Forman first thought about the idea of sharing random acts of kindness to the people in his community. As of today, Don Forman and the entire Las Vegas FOX5 Surprise Squad have helped more than 500 families with their surprise philanthropic acts.
The Story of the Beauchmin Family
One of the most moving stories is that of the Beauchmin family. Tisha and Kevin, both working at the Las Vegas casino, has 5 kids. They can barely make ends meet because of their growing family but despite that, they still decided to adopt the 3 kids of their neighbor who died from cancer. Don Forman and FOX5 Surprise Squad came to the rescue by renovating and upscaling their house, providing the family with one year supply of groceries, and giving them a Christmas that truly felt like one. The surprise didn’t end there because Don Forman himself went to see the family and present to them a humongous gift – a brand new Nissan van that fits the entire family! The family and the neighbors who witnessed the event were in tears because of such a huge blessing. They were all thankful to Don.
Tisha and Kevin’s story is just one of the many stories that continue to fuel Don’s passion to help people. It may be a simple act of kindness for Don, but for these families, it means a new opportunity, a great change, and a renewed zest for life.
