Fortiline Waterworks Announces Strategic Acquisition Of Independent Waterworks Supply & Services

Increases Market Share in South Carolina with Two New Branches

CONCORD, NC / ACCESSWIRE / March 10, 2015 / Fortiline Waterworks (Fortiline), one of the largest waterworks distributors in the United States, announced today it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of Independent Waterworks Supply & Services, of Lexington, S.C., effective March 13, 2015. With this acquisition, Fortiline will now have 36 distribution branches in 12 states, expanding its reach further across South Carolina.

Independent Waterworks Supply & Services was founded in 2000, and has been owned for the past six years by Richard Young. The company has locations in Lexington and Sumter, S.C., which services municipalities and contractors and specializes in “having what you need, when you need it.” 

“This acquisition is the latest move by Fortiline to expand our market share in 2015,” said Mike Swedick, COO of Fortiline. “Already this year we opened a new branch in Miami and we will continue to look for additional growth opportunities.”

In 2014, Fortiline opened five new locations: Haymarket, Va.; San Antonio, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Hartford, Ky.; and Paducah, Ky. With the Independent Waterworks Supply & Services acquisition, Fortiline will now operate eight locations throughout South Carolina.
