Dr. Susan O’Malley quips that it isn’t the luck of the Irish that gets the credit for success in life or business. With the debut of her book, Tough Cookies Don’t Crumble: Turn Set-Backs into Success she shares hard-won lessons learned by turning trying times into triumph to inspire other women to do the same.

Not a fan of manifesting, Dr. O’Malley believes in perseverance, personal responsibility and taking action. She says, “It’s never too late to write your own personal success story.”

Among her top tips to triumph in trying times:

== Row Your Own Boat, Baby.

== Put on a Helmet.

== Embrace Embarrassment.

== Make a Friend of Fear.

== Be Willing to Make Mistakes.

“These and other tips can inspire anyone serious about putting on a helmet and getting in the game of life to win, no matter what,” Dr. O’Malley says.

Once a college drop-out and secretary, Dr. O’Malley started medical school at 35, six months pregnant and unwed. At 50, she walked away from a career as an ER doctor to open a med spa. With no business training, she put a $75 ad in the newspaper and sat at the reception desk herself.

She took her own “Row your own boat, baby” advice to grow that business into a multiple six-figure enterprise. Today Dr. Susan O’Malley is the owner and medical director of Sonas Med Spa in Madison, CT and a member of the National Speakers Association who speaks from live and virtual stages to inspire women to reach high and work hard to make their dreams come true.

A self-described hard working girl who overcame every day and insurmountable obstacles to emerge victorious, Dr. O’Malley’s journey proves that it’s never too late and age need not be a factor between big dreams and a successful reality.
