Dr. Carrie Lam Returns from Successful Missionary trip to Indonesia

Dr. Carrie Lam, MD, recently returned with a group of nine missionaries from the Inland Empire Indonesian Seventh Day Adventist Church to Indonesia last month.

Dr. Carrie Lam, MD, recently returned with a group of nine missionaries from the Inland Empire Indonesian Seventh Day Adventist Church to Perguruan Tinggi Advent Surya Nusantara, Pematang Siantar in North Sumatra, Indonesia last month.

The missionary group fundraised $5000 to help the school build a library.

In addition, they raised another $4500 to begin a scholarship fund to help 11 students in need to pay for some of their tuition and to help two professors who are wanting to get their doctorate degrees as well as the creation of a counseling center on campus.

In addition to her work at Dr. Lam Coaching and the Lam Clinic, Lam enjoys speaking on spiritual health and physical health topics.

“We held an evangelistic series for the school’s week of prayer, where a speaker would give a sermon every night, speaking on the theme of ‘Fighting the Odds: How Young People Can Change The World,’” Lam said. “I spoke on Tuesday night about ‘God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.’”

Lam and the group also lectured regarding the Seventh Day Adventist Church’s NEWSTART healthy lifestyle principles (Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Air, Sunshine, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust in God), as well as giving lectures to the nursing students about preventing burnout, whole-person care, and different types of nursing, body mechanics, lifestyle medicine, and physical exams.

Lam plans on future outreach trips next year.
