Frankly Partners with Inmoji

SAN FRANCISCO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 1, 2015 / Today, Inmoji Inc. (“Inmoji”), a mobile marketing company that connects top brands to consumers through peer-to-peer, in-message, powered emoticons, and Frankly Inc. (TSX VENTURE: TLK) (“Frankly”), a leading provider of mobile messaging technology, announced a partnership to bring clickable, custom-branded icons known as Inmoji to any web or mobile app that uses Frankly’s messaging functionality. The partnership creates scalable expansion opportunities for Inmoji, increasing the company’s reach beyond a small number of traditional messaging providers to a wide audience of any brand and app that integrates the Frankly Chat SDK.

Brands that introduce Frankly-powered chat functionality into their apps will now have the option of allowing their users to send inline Inmoji, which can be customized to look like the company’s logo or a branded object. These personalized add-ons increase brand engagement, expanding on the popular sticker and emoji business with useful and interactive content, such as gifts, location sharing, instant booking, and loyalty-promoting offers. Inmoji are also fully trackable content units that capture critical user sentiment and behavior data.

The partnership between Frankly and Inmoji unlocks new potential revenue streams and cross-promotion opportunities for companies that add the Frankly Chat SDK to their digital properties.

Brands will have the option to leverage “powered” Inmoji to monetize messages, reach large audiences, and capture critical sentiment data while connecting with consumers in an authentic way that drives engagement and loyalty. Walmart, DraftKings, Drizly and Sol Republic are among the top-tier brands that rely on Inmoji to share in-message customized content.

Frankly provides Inmoji with the potential to reach up to 40+ million messaging users by testing Inmoji on its flagship platforms, Frankly Chat and Muzy. (Frankly previously announced the completion of its purchase of Muzy on March 12. Muzy is a popular photoblogging community with apps on the web, iOS, and Android.)

“Inmoji’s partnership with Frankly unleashes the potential of new messaging capabilities to established fanbases that did not previously have the benefit of chat capabilities,” said Michael Africk, co-founder and CEO of Inmoji. “We’re very excited to expand our reach with the Frankly Chat SDK and add real value to their partners by bringing rich experiences that will enhance customer engagement and drive loyalty.”

“Partnering with Inmoji is a great step toward Frankly’s goal to monetize our platform and make chat relevant and useful to brands and their consumers,” says Steve Chung, Frankly’s CEO. “At Frankly, we’re passionate about increasing user engagement on a company’s branded mobile and web properties, and advertising should augment this engagement, not compromise it. Inmoji is on the forefront of this ‘authentic advertising’ movement, and our partnership gives Frankly’s customers the ability to monetize with in-message ads that are driven by the end consumers themselves. We look forward to working with Inmoji’s 50+ advertisers who are leading in this space.”
