Anaheim Addiction Recovery Center Hosted a Unique Thanksgiving Dinner For Its Alumni
November 20, 2019 – – Anaheim, California – For millions of Americans, Thanksgiving is usually synonymous with roast turkey, pumpkin pie, and drinking alcohol to celebrate. As part of its alumni program, the Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol recovery facility in Anaheim, California, wanted its former residents to learn that it is possible to enjoy this popular holiday without alcohol.
Members of the Lighthouse Alumni program were in for a treat as they enjoyed an early Thanksgiving dinner on November 16, 2019 at the Pirates Dinner Adventure.
Pirates Dinner Adventure is a one-of-a-kind dinner theater show located in Buena Park, California. It offers a three-course dinner, acrobatics, singing, and dancing.
Jocel Bibera, alumni relations coordinator of the Lighthouse, said that they wanted a unique and fun experience that could cater to the whole company.
“We wanted our first Thanksgiving dinner for our alumni to be a great family experience and we believe that Pirates Dinner Adventure was a great choice. It was so entertaining, proving that you can have fun while spending a sober Thanksgiving,” said Bibera.
Alumni members who attended the dinner were captivated with the spectacular performances. It also became an opportunity for them to socialize with like-minded people in recovery.
Michael Bumpus, alumni outreach representative and Lighthouse Alumni said, “The Pirates Dinner Adventure was a great experience to develop fellowship. It was a chance for us to go out on the weekend to see how to have sober fun with a group of friends.”
