Lighthouse Treatment Center Hosts Its Annual Holiday Cruise at the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade
December 16, 2019 – – Anaheim, California – The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol recovery facility in Anaheim, California, is hosting its annual Holiday Boat Cruise on December 21, 2019 at the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade.
This year, the Lighthouse is chartering an entire boat called the Nautilus so that all the alumni, staff, and guests can be a part of the boat parade and enjoy fun onboard activities. Jocel Bibera, alumni relations coordinator of the Lighthouse, said that the cruise is the biggest alumni event of the year.
“The holiday boat cruise is a part of the Lighthouse Alumni program and it’s an event that many of us at the Lighthouse look forward to the most. During the cruise, we host an ugly Christmas sweater & pajama contest, while relaxing and enjoying the Christmas decorated boats and houses. It’s a great way for the community to come together to celebrate the holidays and the year we’ve had as a family,” said Bibera.
Ivey P., a Lighthouse alumnus, shared that what she loves about the holiday cruise is that they get to enjoy a scenic tour of Newport Harbor while the shops, neighborhoods, boats and yachts are festively decorated. In addition, it also allows them to spend time with other Lighthouse alumni and staff.
“The Christmas boat cruise in Newport is my favorite event of the year! It makes it extra special that the staff joins us during this event, because it gives the alumni an opportunity to thank them for helping us in our sobriety. We can spend time outside of the campus with the people who have been there for us since our early days in recovery,” shared Ivey.
