The MAX Challenge Of Flemington Now Raising Funds To Help Members Of The Nutrition, Fitness and Health Community
January 03, 2020 – – The MAX Challenge of Flemington, based in Flemington, New Jersey, has reached out to their community to request their help raising funds to help MAXer Michelle Hurley. A member of the community whose house burned down at the beginning of December, this unfortunate event caused the loss of their belongings and left their home in an uninhabitable state. The company launched a fundraiser with a goal of $15,000, which will be used for the purchase of essential goods and clothes for the Hurley family, who currently lack everything from proper winter clothes to a place to live. Ari Lopatin, Owner of The MAX Challenge of Flemington and the fundraiser’s creator, says, “The Hurley family has lost everything that we take for granted every day, having to leave all of their belongings behind while fleeing the devastating fire that erupted in their home. There is nothing we can do to change what has happened but, while the news of something so horrible happening to a member of our beloved community is overwhelming, we must come together as a caring community to help them get through this situation. With thousands of MAXers in the community, it is clear that if we all come together and contribute even the smallest amount to their cause, we will make a difference in their lives, helping them get back on their feet and recover what was lost in this devastating accident.”
The calamity that struck the Hurley household occurred on the evening of Friday, December 6th, when a very destructive chimney fire breakout robbed the family of everything they had worked for years to obtain. While the family and their pets managed to escape unharmed, the fire spread quickly across the roof, decimating their house and leaving nothing but a memory of what used to be: a home severely damaged by enough smoke and water to make the place unsuitable for living for an extended period. This meant that the Hurley family had nowhere to go, and the upcoming holidays had just taken a significant turn for the worse.
“The endurance that the Hurley family has shown following this devastating accident is truly inspiring, as they have remained positive despite what they have gone through,” observes Lopatin. He adds, “As members of The MAX Challenge, we have all had someone be there for us when we were in need. Someone reaching out a hand when we needed it most. For most of us, the MAX has been a beacon of hope, camaraderie and love. This is our chance to change someone’s life and be that beacon of light among the darkness. Let’s show her and everyone out there why The MAX is bigger than any member or any center. It’s a community and family that knows no bounds. Please donate to the Hurley Family and help us make a miracle.”
Since the incident, The MAX Challenge staff have shown a great commitment to helping the Hurley family in this dire situation, extending their aid in several ways. For her part, Michelle Hurley says, “It is so comforting to know that so many people are willing to help when tragedy strikes. It has made this week endurable. Saying thank you is not enough to express our gratitude, but please know you have made all the difference to us in helping us work through this situation. Thank you all!”
Since the incident, the Hurley family has managed to find extended temporary housing, freeing them of one of their biggest concerns for the time being and allowing them to focus on rebuilding what was lost.
