January 14, 2020 – – Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains has announced that the 2020 Girl Scout Cookie Program is about to begin, giving girls an opportunity to become entrepreneurs by raising money to fund troop activities, trips, and community service. This is a yearly program that is eagerly awaited by Girl Scouts across the country, who utilize this as an opportunity to learn and practice goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills, and business ethics. This year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program will begin on the 17th of January, and it will feature new, refreshed cookie packaging that reflects the amazing experience that this is for these girls. The Girl Scout Cookie Program holds a deeper meaning than simply serving as a way to raise money for girls and troops, as it teaches the girls essential skills like money management, public speaking, how to overcome unexpected obstacles, and decision making, setting them up for a lifetime of success. This program, which has been around for decades, has been proven to help encourage girls into pursuing entrepreneurship or other sales-related occupations in their career paths. Regardless of the rebranding of the Girl Scout Cookie packages, the cookies will still deliver the delicious taste that buyers all across the country know and love. Alongside other flavors, Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains will showcase and offer the Lemonades™ cookie as a tasty way to support young female entrepreneurs. Lemonades, alongside classics such as Thin Mints®, Caramel deLites®, and Peanut Butter Patties®, are savory slices of shortbread with lemon flavored icing. All of these varieties will be available in the Fort Worth, Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, and Wichita Falls areas until the program ends March 1.
