BRAC Contracts Completes Northwood School Project

BRAC Contracts is delighted to announce the successful completion of a project at Northwood School.

February 19, 2020 / /

The Wickford-based company has created new sixth form facilities at Northwood School. Based in the heart of Northwood, the school, which is rated outstanding by Ofsted, is part of the QED Academy in the London Borough of Hillingdon, Middlesex.

BRAC Contracts worked with representatives from Northwood School and the QED Academy to design and implement a project to create brand new study facilities for sixth form students. The brief was to transform a space that was previously unused to add extra study areas for pupils and staff.

Employing creativity, innovation and experience, BRAC Contract’s design, project management and construction teams successfully converted an unused roof space into a new zone suitable for informal group work and private study. The space can be used by both students and teachers, and it provides peace and quiet, as well as communal areas designed for collaborative projects.

The project at Northwood School also involved developing common areas, adding IT points, creating areas for members of staff and building multi-purpose classrooms.

The development will enable the school to provide better study facilities for students undertaking important examinations, and it also promotes cohesive and collaborative study. The new areas have maximised usable space in the sixth form building and they cater for pupils and staff. With versatile, modern classrooms, informal, relaxing spaces and secluded spots for private study, students can take advantage of a purpose-built facility that caters to their needs.

BRAC Contracts has extensive experience in working with schools and educational institutions. The company’s skilled team drew on past projects, adding creative thinking, originality and bespoke touches to create a new space that is ideally suited to Northwood School’s sixth form students and staff.

The way pupils study is changing, as technology evolves and students have access to a wider range of resources. The new multi-purpose classrooms and study areas will enable the school to offer its pupils a choice and to cater for different preferences and requirements.

Over the last 14 years, BRAC Contracts has established an excellent reputation, working with a diverse range of clients to plan and oversee a broad spectrum of projects.
