Links Between Phytoceramides And Cancer Uncovered And Announced By Healing Oasis

April 23, 2015 – – Researchers at Healing Oasis have recently noticed shrinkage and even disappearance of skin cancers after instituting oral supplementation with Phytoceramides from the botanical Amorphophallus konjac. According to Wikipedia, ceramides are known as the “tumor suppressor lipid” because of their role in regulating apoptosis. Apoptosis is programmed cell death, which is missing in cancer cells.

Previous research has shown that both radiation and chemotherapy trigger the death of cancer cells by causing an increase in ceramides in the cancer cells. Work is now needed to explore the effects of dietary ceramides, such as phytoceramides derived from plants. Fortunately, oral supplementation with Phytoceramides is safe and available without a prescription.

Ceramides are found in our skin, and they are responsible for maintaining healthy properties such as elasticity, moisture and firm skin appearance. Low levels can contribute to dry skin, acne and other skin problems. As we age, ceramide levels drop and we start to see changes such as wrinkles, fine lines and age spots. Within Ayurveda, phytoceramides, which are basically the ceramides of plants, have been used as a topical product for thousands of years to maintain a youthful appearance. The FDA had approved phytoceramides as an oral supplement in 2014, and they have been hailed as the “fountain of youth.” Since then, research has shown that they have many other benefits and there are now even indications of a link between phytoceramides and cancer prevention.

According to Dr. Glen Swartwout, “Phytoceramides have become very popular as a healthier alternative to face lifts and botox injections. But now we are not only seeing cosmetic improvements, but real healing and rejuvenation of the skin. While it is harder to see what is happening in other deeper tissues, we do know that ceramides are key players in many functions like cell communication, regulation of cellular nutrition and detoxification, sugar metabolism and apoptosis, all of which are crucial in healing cancer.” Dr. Swartwout is the developer of the Clinical Theory of Everything, which is the first explicit theory of how the body, mind and spirit work together.

Dr. Swartwout’s model describes Ceramides as one of three main types of lipids in the skin, and in the cell membrane, which is the ‘skin’ of every cell. The Clinical Theory models the cell membrane as the seat of consciousness, and a key site of biocommunication. The Ceramides regulate communication with environment outside the skin, as well as cell membrane communication, and internal cellular metabolism. In fact, babies are born with a protective white coating of Ceramides called vernix caseosa. The other major cell membrane lipids are Sterols and Fatty Acids. Sterols (like Cholesterol) form most hormones, which communicate outside the cell membrane, while Fatty Acids (like Omega 3) form prostaglandins, which communicate inside cells.

Healing Oasis embraces the new research as supporting its own clinical observations. The fact that there is now a documented link between phytoceramides and cancer prevention means that the hard work the company has engaged in by trying to tell the public of the various benefits is finally starting to pay off.

“We see benefits of phytoceramides for eye and brain health, skin rejuvenation and even restoring memory,” says Susan Luscombe of Healing Oasis. “To hear that there is now significant evidence to support the role of phytoceramides in cancer prevention is fantastic news.” Ms. Luscombe has battled skin cancer with for two decades, and started seeing noticeable improvement in her own skin issues after supplementing with phytoceramides for just a few weeks.

Cancers keep growing because the normal process of programmed cell death, called apoptosis, fails in cancer cells. Ceramides regulate apoptosis, which may explain why some of the improvements in skin texture, appearance and health are so dramatic, as in Ms. Luscombe’s case.

So far, scientific research has shown that phytoceramides rapidly reverse the signs of aging, typically over the course of a few months. Indeed, many people notice visible results in as little as two weeks. They target so many signs of aging and other skin issues like acne, eczema and psoriasis, it stands to reason that they may also reverse other types of damage that we can’t see, deeper inside the body. For Healing Oasis, it is a welcome addition to the problem solving natural remedies they rely on for designing their individualized Accelerated Self-Healing programs for clients around the world.
