As he noted in the new blog, while people should definitely have big goals and dreams for themselves, they should start out small.

“It’s good that you are aiming for the stars but by leaving it that way, will you be able to think of ways to achieve such feats?” Mayar asked in the new blog, adding that this will often cause people to lose all motivation because they don’t think they have what it takes to scale such a high mountain.

“With that said, it is infinitely better if you give yourself small goals that will become the foundation to achieving your idea of success.”

As Mayar wrote, once people give themselves smaller goals that they can reach on a regular basis, they will become more confident. This self-confidence will have a major impact on their general momentum towards reaching their big dreams.

“Take one little step, and then one more, and another. Before you realize it you are on your way to accomplishing your goals,” Mayar wrote, adding that it’s possible that people will even come across a shortcut.

“Or perhaps, you will encounter an individual along the way who will advise you a less arduous path. There’s a chance that you’ll encounter other persons whom you can share your journey with.”

No matter which small goals people set, Mayar notes that the most important thing is that they do something. Even if they feel paralyzed by the weight of their goal, they should do whatever they can to get started achieving their dreams.
