Changes to Heron’s Board of Directors
WEST PERTH, AUSTRALIA / ACCESSWIRE / April 29, 2015 / Heron Resources Limited (Heron or the Company) would like to announce the following changes to the Board of Directors.
Changes to the composition of the Board were foreshadowed in December last year, at which time the Company’s current Chairman, Mr Craig Readhead, indicated he would be stepping down from the Chairman’s role. Having guided the Company through a number of significant milestones in recent times, Mr Readhead has also indicated his intention to step down from the Board.
The Board expresses its gratitude to Mr Readhead for his valuable leadership contribution over the last thirteen years and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
Under Mr Readhead’s stewardship as Heron’s Chairman, the Company completed the merger with TriAusMin Ltd in August 2014, resetting the direction of the Company with the acquisition of a high quality base metal asset at Woodlawn. The recently announced successful completion of the Woodlawn Project Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) has confirmed the economic viability of Woodlawn as a significant producer of zinc, copper and lead and strongly reinforces the decision taken to merge the two companies. This transaction, the subsequent positive PEA study outcome, and Heron’s secure financial position, underpin a bright future for the Company as it continues to advance the development of Woodlawn.
The Board is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Stephen Dennis to the role of independent Non-executive Chairman. Mr Dennis has been a Heron Director since 2006 and brings significant experience in base metals, project development and operations management.
These changes to the Board will become effective on 30 April 2015.
