Ace Hardware Selects Epigraph as Exclusive Augmented Reality and 3D Commerce Partner
United States – May 31, 2022 —
Ace Hardware Corporation, the world’s largest hardware co-op, and Epigraph, a product visualization platform, are partnering to bring Augmented Reality and 3D visualization to Ace customers. The project began as a pilot in mid-2021 and is now available to all brands and products on acehardware.com.
“Augmented reality (AR) lets users view, interact and test products in their own space,” said Jasper Mullarney, Epigraph’s Co-Founder and CEO. “Adoption of AR, 3D and metaverse content has only grown since the pandemic. When retailers were forced to close their doors, AR was there to help give online shoppers an in-store experience.”
By exclusively partnering with Epigraph, Ace Hardware Corporation is readying itself for the industry-wide shift toward a more experiential retail experience, bridging the digital-physical gap to recreate the in-store experience online.
“Epigraph’s technology has delivered a significant improvement in both engagement and performance for Ace vendors – our customers really love it,” said Brian Kritzberg, Ace Hardware’s Digital Merchandising Manager. “We look forward to onboarding new vendors to the program and growing our metaverse footprint in the process.”
Epigraph’s platform is capable of both producing and publishing AR experiences at scale, brands using the platform include EGO, Skil, Saatva, RH, Floyd Home and Yamaha.
“We’ve been working in the furniture, power tool and outdoor power equipment verticals for almost 3 years now, so Ace is a perfect fit for us,” said Mullarney. “We see an incredible opportunity for Ace to leverage the metaverse and a chance for Epigraph to evolve our product to meet the needs of the product verticals they serve.”
With Facebook and Google actively investing in the metaverse, other retail brands are likely to follow this growing trend. Ace’s partnership with Epigraph makes their brand one of the first in the industry to heavily invest in AR and other 3D content.
“We’ve been evaluating the 3D/AR space for a while now and Epigraph’s technology proved to be the perfect fit for Ace’s long-term goals,” said Kritzberg. “We look forward to onboarding our vendors and delivering world-class experiences to Ace’s dedicated customers.”
