Flower Preservation Specialist Magenta Flowers Celebrates First Birthday
United Kingdom – July 23, 2022 —
Established by mum-of-three Safiyya Riyadh in 2019 from her kitchen table, Magenta Flowers transforms flowers from sentimental occasions such as weddings and funerals into handmade resin art and jewellery. The company flourished during the pandemic with many customers pre-ordering floral keepsakes for their postponed weddings.
Having helped Safiyya part-time in the business, husband Adam joined Magenta Flowers full-time in 2021, creating their family business. With the pair’s combined background in IT and advertising, the business grew quickly and by the summer of 2021, Safiyya and Adam were ready to move the business into a studio space at The Bexley Engine House.
The move has allowed them to scale the business and they now help hundreds of customers preserve flowers with sentimental value each month. All items are handmade by Magenta Flowers’ team of resin artists, many of whom were recruited as apprentices or through the Government’s Kickstart scheme.
Safiyya Riyadh, CEO of Magenta Flowers, said: “We only started the business a few months prior to the pandemic hitting, but the fact that we could still take pre-orders when weddings were not allowed to go ahead and funerals were limited showed that the demand for our unique floral keepsakes was strong.
“To grow the business from my kitchen table into the flourishing enterprise it is today hasn’t been easy but we’ve built a great team around us and our work is so rewarding. Our customers are trusting us with flowers that mean so much to them and it’s our pleasure to turn them into pieces of art that will last a lifetime.”
Magenta Flowers has now helped over 6,000 customers preserve flowers from events such as weddings and funerals. It has secured the award for Best Flower Preservation Business by Lux Life Global Wedding Awards two years running, along with the SME News, Greater London Awards for Best Emerging Creative Business and Client Service Excellence Award. The company has attracted over 1,000 positive reviews on its website.
Adam Riyadh, chief marketing officer a Magenta Flowers, said: “With our backgrounds in IT and advertising, we have been able to transform what is traditionally a cottage industry into a thriving eCommerce venture, all whilst keeping our customers at the heart of all we do. We strive to give the best customer experience and our reviews are a testament to that.”
