“I am a Type 1 Diabetic who has struggled with foot problems for many years (due to my diabetes) and also suffered a lot from Ulcers under my toes which left me in a boot for many years, I then came across a shoe that had a Rocker Base and this allowed my toes to heal and help protect them when doing my day to day duties however I was still not able to swim or get my feet wet or do anything outdoors in rough terrain as I could injure my foot and put me back in that dreaded boot,” says co-founder Justin McGregor on the inspiration behind the project. “I saw the real need for this type of shoe and I started collaborating with my Podiatrist from Melbourne and that’s when Swimetics was born and then our first product designed Splooosh which has taken a couple of years to design and get to the point of Production which is where we are at right now”
