Dr. Warees Majeed, Founder of Yaay Me!, featured speaker at Church of Scientology event
The Scientology Network TV series, Voices for Humanity, features an episode on Washington, DC, community leader helping to steer community members away from crime
Washington, DC, United States – July 31, 2024 /MarketersMEDIA/ —
Dr. Warees Majeed and his journey in helping others in Washington, DC, and around the world were highlighted at an open house event at the Founding Church of Scientology this week.
Dr. Majeed is a native Washingtonian and co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Yaay Me!, Inc., a nonprofit organization focusing on youth, young adults, and returning citizens. Dr. Majeed is a passionate advocate for underprivileged and under served residents and uses a large array of programs addressing crime prevention, crime reduction, workforce development, mental health skill-building and personal development. He works to bring hope to those struggling with despair by setting goals and providing job training to give them a path forward.
Dr. Majeed impressed the audience with his real life experience and recommendations on how to help people reframe their thoughts and expectations in order to realize that chasing after a lot of money right now will not necessarily result in long-term happiness. For instance, Dr. Majeed discussed the life expectancy of drug dealers and others involved in criminal activity. He pointed out that a 40-year-old drug dealer is an “original gangster,” a “Grandfather,” and, in fact, almost unheard of, whereas police officers, lawyers, business owners and other such professionals get to meet their grandchildren and live to be 70 or 80 years old.
Dr. Majeed’s work with at-risk youth is featured in an episode of the Scientology Network show Voices for Humanity this season, which was shown during the presentation. The documentary highlights Dr. Majeed’s use of The Way to Happiness – A Common Sense Guide to Better Living, written by author and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.
Dr. Warees Majeed said, “In our community, everybody is impacted by the street culture. The young people need guidance, they need direction. So I will continue fighting, continue pushing till everybody finds out what it looks like to find their way. They are looking for a blueprint for success. The Way to Happiness gives them the guide.”
The Voices for Humanity TV show demonstrates how Dr. Majeed works with community members to create meaningful lives for themselves and others.
Matt Robinson, President of Criminon New Life DC, attended the event and provided a moving success story written by an incarcerated person who completed The Way to Happiness course in DC jail. The incarcerated individual wrote about his change of mindset and his intention to stay out of jail when he returns to the community. He had decided to put family and community ahead of himself, as a result of studying The Way to Happiness.
The Scientology TV show, Voices for Humanity, features change makers from many faiths, many cultures and many nations as they extend help to their communities through Scientology-sponsored humanitarian programs.
