Penda Learning Selected by Miami Dade for Summer School Program to Prevent Summer Learning Losses

225,000 Students in Grades 4-10 will Enjoy Science and Math for 12 Weeks

ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / June 9, 2015 / Penda Learning, a leading provider of highly engaging science and math content for grades 4-10 built on a gaming platform, announced today they have been chosen by Miami Dade County Schools for their 12-week summer program beginning June 8, 2015. Students will access Penda’s fun and competitive gaming platform to practice science and math concepts as well as curb summer learning losses in science and math.

Miami Dade is the fourth largest district in the nation and is known for innovative, cutting edge approaches to delivering curriculum. Penda has successfully worked with some of the district’s ETO schools (Education Transformation Office) and their engaging instructional content will now be accessible to students across the district throughout the summer.

Nidia Ashby, assistant principal at one of the ETO schools reported, “The level of student engagement with Penda was at an all-time high. I’ve never seen so many kids addicted to an educational program.”

She continued, “Students requested to stay after school or spend their lunch time doing Penda lessons. It was truly awesome.”

In addition, Penda is correlated to the district’s scope and sequence so the weekly reports show student mastery of what is being taught to help teachers drive instruction.
