Bart Haynes supports the “Foundation for the Children of the California’s”

June 16, 2015 – – “Salsa Ride at the Border”- Southern California’s Regional Healthcare Fund Raiser

The festive cycling ride began at the “Outlets at the Border” www.theoutletsattheborder.com in San Ysidro, CA. Bart Haynes participated in the metric century ride covering the scenic Otay Lakes, Chula Vista and the Eastlake areas. The Salsa Ride offered the community a chance to demonstrate their support of the charitable work being done on both sides of the US/Mexican border. The cycling event fundraiser was in partnership with the “Raul Alcala Challenge” and the champion celebrity bicyclist.

The benefits transcend international borders as it supports children’s health in both the USA and Mexico.This type of grass roots support can provide long term health benefits along with fostering the generosity and support between the neighboring countries. Funds raised at the event will be used to purchase ophthalmology surgical equipment so that surgeons at the hospital can help children avoid blindness and vision disorders. No child is turned away for inability to pay and the facility serves kids from both sides of the San Diego and Baja California “mega-region.”

The goal of the foundation is to improve the Health and Nutrition for the Children of the Region, through the operation of Children’s Hospital of the California’s / Hospital Infantil de las Californias. One of the beneficiaries of the charity event is the Harland Sanders Surgery Center which provides 3 operating rooms where more than 80 types of surgical procedures are performed.
