Educational Building Toy Company Click-A-Brick Praises ASTRA Finalists

June 21, 2015 – – The team behind educational building toy Click-A-Brick say they are encouraged by the amount of innovation on display by the various building toys that have been named finalists for the Best Toys for Kids awards from the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA).

Eighty-three toys in total were named finalists for the ASTRA awards, with six in the category of Constructive Play — all pertaining to building — plus a building toy that adds a new twist to an old favorite in the Choose Your Own Category.

“Best Toys for Kids is the only annual toy list that is compiled by a national network of grassroots play experts who know specialty toys inside out,” ASTRA president Kathleen McHugh said in a press release. “Those experts are ASTRA member retailers, and the list represents their collective experience in watching children play with products in their stores, combined with feedback they hear from parents and their own expertise about toys and child development.”

The six toys in the Constructive Play category and the one building-related toy in the Choose Your Own Category all have unique takes on the building aspect of play and the Click-A-Brick team says this kind of innovation is healthy in the market, as it encourages toy companies to constantly be improving and coming up with new ideas.

“We appreciate the amount of innovation that we see going on in our segment,” Click-A-Brick Co-Founder Jason Smith said. “The building toys that made it to the ASTRA finalists list are all deserving and all help to spur healthy competition among the various companies in the market. And when that happens, the consumers win. The parents get more choice, but, more importantly, children get better toys to play with that have had real thought put into them. We’re inspired by this competition to make Click-A-Brick the best educational building toy on the market.”

Despite the obviously stiff competition in the market segment, the team behind Click-A-Brick, which also includes Co-Founder and Brand Manager Georg de Gorostiza, say they have the utmost confidence in their product and believe it offers the same level of educational play as any of the finalists for the ASTRA awards. Both of their currently available sets — the Animal Kingdom Safari and Army Defenders sets — have garnered high praise via the reviews left by satisfied customers on Amazon.

Winners for the ASTRA Best Toys for Kids awards will be selected by a combination of voting done at the organization’s recently held Marketplace & Academy in Charlotte, NC, and voting done online by ASTRA member retailers. Winners will be announced in late June.
