Children with learning disabilities often face prejudice and feel frustration at school. A young dyslexic child will often come home from school sad, angry, tired and irritable, leaving their parents confused and wondering what’s really happening to their child at school and what they should do about it. Dyslexia has a way of forcing a great divide between parent and child, but like any other difficulty, with support, people have found amazing ways to work around it.

“Well-informed, educated and empowered parents are the key to helping a child with dyslexia to succeed at school.” That’s the message from Liz Dunoon, established author, school teacher, key note speaker, government advisor and mother to three children with dyslexia in the second edition of her book ‘Helping Children With Dyslexia’.

Helping Children With Dyslexia, has already sold 1000’s of copies worldwide. Sir Richard Branson has written the forewordand it offers a summary of her views echoed by thousands of parents with dyslexic children around the world. This book offers expert opinions and up to date research, providing an invaluable resource to other parents concerned about their child’s learning difficulties. In particular their ability to read and write. Liz Dunoon offers practical information, strategies and advice about raising concerns with teachers and seeking an accurate diagnosis, whilst also providing inspiring personal stories from dyslexics and their families. Having lived her entire married life with her dyslexic children and husband, she offers parents and teachers a lifeline of resources to deal with the many issues facing parents who have a child with a learning difficulty.

When asked when her new book will be out and how much it will be selling for, Liz answered, “It’s going to be out early July, 2015, and it’s going to be given away for free but only for a very limited time.”
