Details of New Wrongful Death Lawsuit
On March 20th, 2015, a complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana by the son of a Georgia man who had died due to an uncontrollable bleed.
According to the complaint – filed under case number 1:15-cv00886 – the plaintiff’s father was prescribed Xarelto for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation.
The complaint states that the plaintiff’s father died in March of 2013 due to major internal bleed which the plaintiff believes was caused by Xarelto.
Furthermore, this complaint alleges that pharmaceutical companies Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals – two firms responsible for manufacturing and distributing Xarelto in the US – concealed information regarding the drug’s safety and risk for uncontrollable bleeding.
As a result, the plaintiff argues that the his father’s death would not have occurred had his father been made aware of the risks associated with the blood thinner drug.
