Fallen Heroes, Forgotten Victims And Other Books On WWII (WW2) History Released

July 22, 2015 – – The Ernesto Carbonelli Book Collection now includes “Fallen Heroes, Forgotten Victims.” This is one of four books in the collection that are available in English, with all other books being published in Italian, as can be seen on http://ernestoc.ca/. Carbonelli is passionate about the history of the Second World War, something that is reflected in the entire collection. “Fallen Heroes, Forgotten Victims” is now available for purchase in PDF or EPUB format.

Ernesto Carbonelli says, “Fallen Heroes, Forgotten Victims speaks of a tragic story that happened towards the end of the war in Italy. Every day, Supinese women started to leave fresh flowers on the graves of five German soldiers. Only a few lines in the diary of a priest discussed why they were doing this, and in the book, I have tried to bring out the truth behind this story.”

The book comes with illustrative photos that show the timing related to the five German soldiers. The soldiers were laying an ambush, awaiting a group of Moroccans, but felt unable to carry out their orders because the Moroccans had started approaching a group of women, clearly with malicious intent. The German soldiers, as explained in the book, ended up losing their lives but the result was that the women were spared from a horrific death, for which they were thankful until the end of their days. A small preview of the book can be enjoyed on http://ernestoc.ca/portfolio-item/fallenheroes-english/.

“I have spent years researching this story, coming from Supino myself,” adds Carbonelli. “The more I researched, the more interesting it got, and the clearer it became that not all Germans were evil. The compassion shown by these men, as you can read in Fallen Heroes, Forgotten Victims, was tremendous and something that people should be inspired by. I can only hope I have done their memories justice in my book.”

Ernesto Carbonelli’s personal history is also very interesting, as can be seen on http://ernestoc.ca/abouternesto/. He was born and raised in Supino, before emigrating to Canada in the 1960s, making a new home for himself. The remnants of WWII in his own country had profoundly affected him, however, and most of his books address this part of history.
