Xarelto Lawsuit Update: New Study Reveals Increased Risk of Gastrointestinal Bleed

July 22, 2015 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com recently azalyzed the results from a study published in the Bristish Medical Journal which examined the safety of Xarelto compared to other blood thinner drugs.

The retrospective coohort study consisting of more than 45,000 individuals looked at the comparitive risk of gastrointestinal bleeding among patients taking rivaroxiban (Xarelto’s generic form) and those taking warfarin.

After reviewing the data, researchers concluded that Xarelto could more than double the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when compared to the generic blood thinner warfarin.

ABOUT XARELTO & DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS

Xarelto is a prescription blood thinner (also known as anticoagulant) that stops blood from coagulating and clotting.

The drug is predominantly prescribed for reducing the risks of blood clots in patients undergoing knee or hip replacement surgery, and patients with Atrial Fibrillation, Deep Vein Thrombosis or Pulmonary Embolism.

The alleged benefits of Xarelto along with a heavy promotional agenda from its producers have helped it to become the leading blood thinner in its class in the US market.

Xarelto has been prescribed over 11,000,000 times in America since its 2011 debut in the US market.

However, several studies have now linked the use of Xarelto to dangerous side effects including severe internal bleeding.

LAWSUITS FILED FOR INJURY & WRONFUL DEATH

The research linking Xarelto to dangerous side effects has led many to file lawsuits against Xarelto’s producers and distributors alleging that the negligence of these companies resulted in their injury or the death of a loved one.

“The results of these studies are prompting more people to file lawsuits each day in relation to Xarelto and its allegedly dangerous side effects,” said attorney Marc Goldich, Esq. in response to the recent publication of the study in the British Medical Journal.
