Life After Football Honoring the Academic and Sports Global Commitment

IRVING, TX / ACCESSWIRE / September 14, 2015 / So often we hear about the athletic powerhouses who struggle with their academic powerhouse. Universal Academy is pleased to announce the addition of Jesse Holley as co-athletic director, who brings the expertise as a former Dallas Cowboys player. Holley is focused on improving student success. He is achieving global goals and bringing new life and dimension after retirement from the NFL. Jesse represents the new player coach that far exceeds the normal high school coach. He is in a position to share his experience to help mold and shape young athletes of the future.

Holley is the epitome of the American Dream. Having gone to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he not only was a Four Year Letter Winner and captain of the football team, but also won a National Championship with the basketball team in 2005. Holley soon after graduated from UNC with a degree in Communication and became an undrafted Free Agent picked up the Cincinnati Bengals as a wide receiver. After being with the Bengals for a season, Holley worked odd jobs while remaining in top shape throughout times of professional uncertainty – never giving up his dreams of having a career in the NFL.

In 2009 an opportunity came along for Holley to compete on Michael Irving’s reality television series “4th and Long”. The show put six wide receivers against six defensive backs, giving the winner a spot at the Dallas Cowboys training camp with a shot at making the roster. Having remained in top shape and steadfast to his dreams, Holley was mentally and physically prepared for all the obstacles at hand winning the show, making the Cowboys roster and played with the Cowboys for three seasons.

After deciding to hang up his cleats, Holley, talkative by nature, decided to give a shot at something else he always dreamed of – broadcast. In 2012, Holley became a CBS Radio Host in Dallas, Texas where he still covers various sports topics from baseball, to football, to basketball and even some current events. Holley is currently also one of the hosts for the Dallas Cowboys’ Pre and Post Game show.

In his spare time, Holley owns a business, and uses his charity Holley’s Helping Hand to support low-income families doing back-to-school and holiday events. Holley is also the uncle to two beautiful nieces and enjoys cooking.
