Ed Begley, Jr. Receives 1st George Washington Carver Environmental Legacy Award at EarthFest LA 2015

Dr. George Washington Carver, an African American scientist, teacher, naturalist, visionary, conservationist, inventor and environmentalist saw it fitting to pursue a life of uplifting his community through the use of ecology and science. His vision lives with us today. The California Greenworks Dr. George Washington Carver Environmental Legacy Award is ntended to serve as recognition for outstanding devotion to service, innovation and commitment in the areas of environmental justice, equity and humanity. These individuals have distinguished themselves through service within their chosen professions to demonstrate their passion for protecting the environment and service to all mankind. It is from the evidence of their body of work that the Board of Director for California Greenworks, Inc. recognize these achievements.

George Washington Carver Environmental Legacy Award

Ed Begley, Jr received this award at an exclusive awards reception at the historic Culver Hotel during EarthFest LA for his advocacy and support of California Greenworks initiatives for greener communities, but also to recognize his outstanding leadership in encouraging everyone to do their part for a healthy earth and sustainable living.

EarthFest LA 2015 is the 9th year for the festival that drew thousands of Angelenos to 9300 Culver Blvd in Culver City to celebrate keeping a clean earth and promote sustainable living. Begley was the Honoree/Celebrity Emcee, Actor/Astronaut Pete Freeland served as host and actress Andrea Fletcher was the VIP/Green Room Host. The day is full of fun for the whole family activities, food, and rocking tunes in a live Concert for the Environment featuring: Sapphire Road, The Acoustic Generation, Scott Bairstow and Billy D and The Hoodoos. The Event was featured on the KTLA Morning News with Sam Rubin and also covered live by Tysha Williams with Studio 3 Hollywood; syndicated photo site PR Photos and top blogger Laura Medina with The Arriviste.
