From a secluded ranch guest house and Fredericksburg historic-farmhouse style, to contemporary waterfront living with every amenity one can dream of, the 2015 Hill Country Parade Home Tour presented by the Hill Country Builders Association in Texas will be a delight for visitors this year. The Parade Home Tour will be held Friday through Sunday on two weekends, Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25 with presale tickets available on Oct. 1 at the HCBA’s website, and at Security State Bank & Trust locations.

Nine homes in total, built by a number of the Hill Country’s outstanding home builders, are part of this year’s lineup. Among the highlights of the event include two homes that are right on the water’s edge–where water lovers will be able to drive their boats right up under their homes–a contemporary beach-style cottage with community sports park, pool and marina, and a Hill Country modern lake house featuring a grand tower and courtyard entry in front, opening to a pool and expansive outdoor living space in the rear with boat dock.

“The 2015 HCBA Parade Home Tour is quite representative of our current Hill Country housing market,” said Jayne Mortensen, Hill Country Builders Association Executive Director. “Three of our custom homes in the tour are for sale and that trend is growing once again as an option for Hill Country home buyers. Diversity in housing, too, is improving. Our homes are fully landscaped and decorated, so whether visitors are looking for a $300K home or a $1.5M lakefront retreat, all of the homes will be eye-opening with appeal.” Two such enchanting Texas Hill Country homes offer the new trend toward a contemporary style blend. One contains modern European-look fixtures, a custom marble wall and fireplace in the living area and large timber beams spanning across the spacious porch. The other has a gourmet kitchen, split bedroom plan with open living concept, plus a comfortable outdoor living area overlooking a creek, and over two acres of mature oaks.

“Our Parade Home Tour also offers a remodeling project that presents the choice to stay where you are and upgrade your home to new energy standards and lifestyle features,” said Mortensen. The tour gives visitors a chance to see the beautifully remodeled 35-plus-year-old guest home on the private 3,800-acre Granite Mountain Ranch. In the space are the original hardwood floors, four porches that allow for owners and visitors alike to take in the expansive Texas Hill Country views, and modern touches as well.

Two modern farmhouse-style homes in Fredericksburg are within The Preserve subdivision with unique building restrictions, meaning that the architecture must be in the in the historic Fredericksburg style. One has a large screened back porch overlooking the ranch beyond and the other, a gourmet chef’s kitchen. Both offer a two-car garage and large workshop.

Featured builders for the 2015 Parade Home Tour include Brother Sun Builders, Craftsman Construction, Dustin Dewald Custom Homes, Hills of Texas Homes, Hominick Custom Builders, Rostrata Builders, Showcase Builders and Winsborough Construction.

The Parade Home Tour runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 23-25. Each ticket holder will receive a 60+ page full-color, 2015 Parade Home Tour magazine and a People’s Choice Award ballot to share who is their favorite. The Parade Home Tour offers prospective home buyers from all across Texas a chance to visit the beautiful Texas Hill Country, plus, for local residents, an opportunity to see the latest in custom home building and homes for sale.

This year’s Parade Home Tour sponsors include presenting sponsor, Security State Bank & Trust, and tour sponsors BMC Building Materials, Bath & Kitchen Showplace/Moore Supply, C & D Home Products Studio, Coldspring Residential, and Probuild. The Hill Country Builders Association is a not-for-profit, professional trade association chartered by the National Association of Home Builders and the Texas Association of Builders.
