Costa Rica’s Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Disclosed As The Source of Super-Heated Mineral Hot Springs At The Blue River Resort & Hot Springs

Minerals in the rocks pass into the water giving it health enhancing qualities unsurpassed anywhere on Earth.

Rincon de la Vieja, Costa Rica – October 28, 2015 – Blue River Resort & Hot Springs in Costa Rica recently announced some improvements to their Hot Spring Pools. They have installed natural roof covers for that relaxing Tiki Hut atmosphere. Not all natural hot springs Costa Rica are the same. There are natural hot springs and there are natural mineral hot springs. The difference in health giving benefits is enormous. It is all a matter of at what depth the water is heated, and to what temperature. There are only a couple of places in Costa Rica that have the ideal conditions for the best mineral hot springs. Under the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano lies the secret to the “Fountain of Youth”. As the water is super-heated, it passes through rock formations picking-up the mineral deposits along the way.

One of the special properties that guests benefit from at the Blue River Resort & Hot Springs is the unique emerald green color of the hot springs. After filtering the water of dirt, the hot springs are colorless and odorless. The water is then mixed with fresh water to achieve different temperatures to fill each of the 4 pools. An hour later the water in the pools begins changing to an emerald green. This phenomena is the result of the dissolved mineral, copper, which, when exposed to air, begins to solidify. The special benefit of this mineral is that it acts as natural disinfectant for the skin. Between a hot springs stream and a fresh water stream/creek inside the botanical gardens, we created a natural mud bath and sauna area. The sauna is located over the hot springs creek to acheive the steam. So guests first take a steam bath, then apply the mud, wait for it to dry and then rinse off under a shower located in the fresh water creek.

Each unique pool is constantly fed from the hot springs bubbling up on the Blue River Resort. Guests enjoy pools with varying temperatures, waterfalls, and unique themes, all surrounded with exotic local fauna. Their pools include: the Grand Pool, Jamaica Pool, Jetted Pool, Iguana Pool, and the Kids Pool, which is great for swimming and features fresh-water and a bullet slide. Each is a piece of art that all members of the family will enjoy. If you’re feeling energized, head over to the fully-outfitted gym, steam room and wet and dry saunas. It’s easy to see why many visitors call this “Heaven on Earth”. Some people come here for the Zip-Line experience, some for the Horseback Eco Tours or Tubing along the blue river, Rio Azul. All visitors are awed by the surrounding landscape which is lush with flowers and rainforest foliage. Panoramic views of the mountains help to create memories that will last a lifetime.
