Wi2Wi Establishes Design and Engineering Center in Hyderabad, India
TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / November 16, 2015 / Wi2Wi Corporation (Wi2Wi or the Company) (TSX-V: YTY), a leading global developer and manufacturer of wireless connectivity solutions, high precision frequency control devices, timing devices, and microwave filter devices, is pleased to announce that it has established a new Design and Engineering (“D&E”) center in Hyderabad, India. Wi2Wi’s team at this D&E center will focus on developing wireless connectivity solutions addressing the exploding demand in Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) markets, The location of the D&E Center will allow the Company to tap into the rich talent pool around Hyderabad and the region to develop a wide range of hardware and software-related solutions, as well as enabling real time technical support for customers in Asia-Pacific.
“We are excited about this new D&E facility, which is perfectly located, has the highest caliber people and operates cost effectively to help us deliver innovative design solutions to service the unique requirements of applications in the fastest growing wireless market on the planet – the Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine applications,” said Zachariah Mathews, President and Chief Executive of the Company. “According to one of the world’s leading business analyst groups, the International Data Corporation (IDC), the IoT market alone will grow up to US $7 trillion in 2020. Establishing this center is the latest important step in positioning Wi2Wi to service this huge market.”
About IoT and M2M
Essentially, IoT and M2M describe the network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data wirelessly. Driven by several factors including the growth in the availability of Broadband Internet, which reduces the cost of connecting, and the related increase in wireless connectivity capabilities as well as sensors built into a myriad of technologies, this has been described as the “perfect storm” for the IoT. Almost any device with an on and off switch can be connected to the Internet (and/or to each other) – anything from cell phones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices, cars, as well as machine components in the engine of a jet airplane or the drill of an oil rig. According to technology market Intelligence-company, ABI Research, by 2020 there will be 40.9 billion connected devices.
