Joule Energy Announces Support For St. Baldrick’s Foundation

November 16, 2015 – – Joule Solar Energy, based in New Orleans, LO, is proud to announce that they are actively involved in community support, by raising money for St. Baldricks, a charity that supports children with cancer. They will also be making donations to other charities.

“The whole team shaved their heads to support St. Baldricks,” says Robert Schmidt from Joule Solar Energy. “We looked pretty weird, but it felt awesome to do something good. And we raised quite a bit of money for a very worthy charity.”

The company has set up their ‘Network Voluntour’. This is essentially a set of four corporate wide volunteer days. They will include support for the National Wildlife Foundation and the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation. There is a potential for the two charities to also become solar projects.

Joule Energy is an emerging philanthropist of New Orleans. All employees of the company are active in the community, supporting various organizations on their own. These organizations include Public Lab, Gulf Coast Restoration Network, Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Louisiana Himalaya Association, Friends of Lafitte Corridor, Sustain the Nine, the SPCA, Animal Rescue New Orleans, Youth Run NOLA, GrowDat Youth Farm, Arc of New Orleans, Crescent City Cafe, and more!

“We really want to set an example to other companies,” adds Robert Schmidt. “Being a solar energy provider, it is obvious that we care about our planet. But we also care about communities and, perhaps most of all, the quality of our work. This is why we have the most NABCEP certified employees in all of the South East and why we have been able to be registered as a B corp since 2010. We also have full BBB accreditation.”

Joules Energy believes in ‘making it right’. It is for this reason that they currently donate all their extra panels to a local non profit organization. Additionally, employees will be volunteering through the Make It Right program, which will raise money for the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The company is committed to their ongoing community and philanthropic work. Perhaps, once their hair grows back, they will even shave it off again!
