True School of Music’s Professional DJ Courses Teach People to Learn DJing

November 20, 2015 – – The True School of Music, India’s first comprehensive institute of contemporary music, now offers students a specialization in DJing, through its Pro DJ course. It is aimed at creating DJs who not only want to spin music in different formats, but also want to cross over into electronic music production. The curriculum spans formats that include Vinyl (Turn Tables), CDs (CDJs), Turntabilism and Digital Music (Traktor, Ableton & Maschine).

In the vinyl module students learn and apply their skills on the traditional setup of 2 Technics turntables and 1 mixer. The in-depth approach of the material covers all aspects of mixing, as well as music theory and the functionality of the oldest DJ console configuration.

The CD DJ module will give learners a chance to learn and understand the Rekordbox preparation tool along with legendary Pioneer specific features like looping, hot cues & FX on international standard console equipment models like CDJ2000 NXS, CDJ900, DJM2000 NXS & DJM 850. In Turntablism, special emphasis is given on scratching techniques, beat juggling combos, one deck drumming and sampling.

The fourth module shows students how to harness the endless power and possibilities of digital DJing by learning Native Instruments’ Traktor DJing software.

The course is helmed by DJ Kedar Sakharkar and Sanjay Meriya a.k.a. DJ Spindoctor. Both the DJs have played commercial and cutting-edge and everything in between.

Courses are taught during the weekday, evenings and are designed to be full time or fit around either work or additional study commitments.
