Steele Smith III, CEO Of C3 International, Inc., Discusses Senate Approved Bill Allowing Veterans Medical Cannabis Access.

As Harm-Reduction Measure Medical Cannabis Can Reduce Veterans Death Toll From Opioid Addiction.

November 25, 2015 /AuthorityNewsNetwork/

The death rate from opiate overdoses among Veterans Affairs (VA) patients is almost double the national average, according to a report by the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR). Prescriptions for hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone, and morphine have jumped 270 percent from 2001-2012 in VA patients, per the report. While the VA has made strides since the 2012 report to reduce the amount of opioids being prescribed, these are still the primary treatment options available, which are extremely addictive and come with substantial debilitating side effects.

The Veterans Health Administration currently does not allow its physicians to discuss medical cannabis as a treatment option with patients in the 23 states with medical cannabis laws. This forces veterans to turn elsewhere for guidance and the paperwork necessary to acquire medical cannabis (marijuana). As a harm-reduction measure, especially for pain management, doctors will be able to write prescriptions for cannabis as a safer option, before opioids like Vicodin™, OxyContin™ or Opana™.

“I understand the plight of those who are suffering chronic pain,” says Steele Smith III. “Especially if those persons served our country and I can ease their symptoms, I want to help.” “C3 International looks forward to working with the Veterans Administration to educate its physicians on the benefits of Medical Cannabis.” “The Idrasil™ form of medical cannabis by pill is exactly the method of administration to which most physicians are accustomed and can deliver relief & Quality of Life to many affected Veterans” stated Smith III.

C3 International, Inc. is the manufacturer of Idrasil™. Idrasil™ is standardized and consistent, prescription only, medical cannabis in a pill. Idrasil™ is a whole, active natural cannabis extract that provides all of the medicinal benefits of cannabis, including pain management, without the risks of smoking or the unpredictable dosages of edible confections. Doctors can easily write Idrasil™ on their regular prescription pad and the medicine is reimbursable by most major medical insurance plans, including the Workers Compensation Fund, in California.

The U.S. Senate recently passed the FY2016 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill, which includes language to allow Veterans Administration doctors to discuss medical cannabis treatment options with their patients in states where medical cannabis is legal. The Daines-Merkley amendment authorizes VA physicians and other health care providers to provide recommendations and opinions regarding the use of medical cannabis to veterans.

Idrasil™ solves the current problem of inconsistent dosing with medical cannabis. Idrasil™ features measured dosing that naturally decreases pain without mental impairment or intoxication, when titrated properly as opposed to the synthetic form Dronabinol. Idrasil™ is 100% natural and organic derived from the Cannabis plant. Idrasil™ eliminates the negative social stigmas associated with cannabis and replaces them with a mainstream all natural nutraceutical, in a consistent 25mg pill form. The only all natural medical cannabis prescription recognized and paid for by most health insurance providers in California.

“In 1994 I had neck surgery. C-5, C-6, andC-7 were fused together. I was in a car accident 6 weeks later. My neck was ok but I have had pain since the operation. I have had every pill for pain, muscle relaxers to Morphine patches. I become immune to pills quickly. Cannabis on the other hand, using it to take care of the pain, can get me through my day without my arms getting numb or the constant pain in my shoulder blade and arm. I can get along with my day as a normal person. Idrasil works!!”
