Sexual Assault Attorney Files Complaint Against New Jersey Hotel
January 12, 2016 – – AbuseGuardian.com reports on a sexual abuse of a minor complaint filed in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County, case number MID-L-5821-15. Some of the defendants named in the complaint are Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel, Marriott International, Inc., and Cavalry Protective Services, and they are allegedly negligent in the protection of the plaintiff, a minor and patron of the hotel.
In September of 2013 the Plaintiff was on a school trip to New York City to take part in the Annual Feast of San Gennaro with his high school Italian club. His club was lodged on the premises of the Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel, located in Rutherford, New Jersey. The complaint states that: “In the early morning hours of September 15, 2013 the Plaintiff awoke to Jose Olivares performing non-consensual oral sex on him.” At this time, the perpetrator of the alleged sexual assault had been hired as security for the hotel through the defendant Cavalry Protective Services. The complaint alleges that the defendants were negligent in hiring an unfit individual who would commit such a “deplorable act”, and for failing to maintain the premises in a condition that would provide reasonable protection of patrons’ welfare among other allegations.
