IndexBox Marketing has just published a new report “World: Vegetables (Preserved And Frozen) – Market Report. Analysis and Forecast to 2020”

Belgium continued its dominance in the global trade of preserved and frozen vegetable. Its primary trading partner was Germany, where it supplied 23% of its total exports of frozen vegetable in value terms, accounting for 47% of Germany’s total imports.

From 2007 to 2014, Belgium was a net exporter of preserved and frozen vegetables. Over this period, exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. In physical terms exports and imports were evenly balanced.

China and Spain were among the other main global suppliers of preserved and frozen vegetables in 2014. The fastest growing exporter from 2007 to 2014 was Egypt (+25% per year). It was China, however, that was able to strengthen its position in the global export structure.

Belgium’s top 5 trading partners in 2014 were Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy, with a combined 69% share of Belgium’s exports of frozen vegetable. The share of Italy increased slightly (+1 percentage point), while the share of France illustrated negative dynamics (-2 percentage points).
