Jacobs The Jewellers Launches Young Designer Competition
January 28, 2016 – – Jacobs the Jewellers, based in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom, has recently launched a young designer competition. Details of the competition were first highlighted on a blog post that the jewelry store posted on its website. This can be found at http://jacobsthejewellers.com/blog/jacobs-the-jewellers-launches-young-designer-competition/.
Adam Jacobs says: “Jacobs the Jewellers is delighted to be supporting this unique opportunity for young jewelry designers in the Reading, Berkshire area, helping the next generation of talented people put their creative potential forward.”
The competition has been launched in conjuction with the Bishopsland Educational Trust, which is a postgraduate jewelry design course provider from South Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. They have pioneered public competition and exhibition and the shop of Jacobs the Jewellers, in Reading town center, will be the location of this exhibition.
Eight young designers have been chosen to showcase a piece of jewelry and a piece of silver. They will compete for best place in both these categories. The public will be able to view the designs in June 2016, and they will then be able to vote for their favorite design. Those who vote will automatically be entered in a prize draw with the winning prize being a 250 GBP Jacobs the Jewellers gift certificate. The winning young designers will receive 500 GBP that they can spend at HS Walsh. This can be used on jewelry tools and supplies and will enable them to further their career.
Jacobs the Jewellers is happy to be working with the Bishopsland Trust. It will also be cooperating with the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. This is a livery company in the City of London, which was founded in the 13th century and was set up in order to promote the craft of gold and silversmiths.
“We are so excited about the competition,” adds Adam Jacobs. “It is an opportunity for leaders in the industry to come together and showcase young talent. These young designers are the future of the jewelry design industry and they will shape the jewelry that people will wear for years to come. Please do come and view what they come up with in June.”
