AARP Director of Supplier Diversity joins Honorary Advisory Board of National Veterans Group

September 06, 2017 – – Mrs. Kimberly Marcus, Director of Supplier Diversity for AARP was recently appointed to the Honorary Advisory Board (HAB) of The National Veterans Opportunity Coalition (TNVOC). After recently meeting with the TNVOC President Ron Williams and Vice President Ben Fatola in Maryland at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds, it was apparent to the TNVOC Leadership that Mrs. Marcus was dedicated to Supplier Diversity and could bring great value to the organization and the Veteran Business Community nationwide.

Mrs. Kimberly Marcus is responsible for redefining supplier diversity at AARP. Her bio includes, “The AARP supplier diversity program resides at the intersection of who we are, what we do, and how we do it. AARP’s supplier diversity program is directly linked to our mission and why we exist. AARP not only seeks to work with diverse suppliers, we also serve them by helping them grow their businesses and promoting them in the marketplace”.

TNVOC Vice President Ben Fatola stated, “We’re excited to have someone of her caliber on our Honorary Advisory Board. She has a wealth of experience and a diverse background that will bring great value to our constituents. With over 15 years of combined experience in both corporate and non-profit, she clearly understands the arena in which we serve.”

Mrs. Marcus is no stranger to the world of business ownership, as she owned and ran her own diversity consulting firm, KC Consulting, where she advised client firms on diversity initiatives, and recommended implementation strategies. A native of Oakland, California, Mrs. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. Mrs. Marcus is a recipient of the 40 Most Influential Young Professionals Under 40 In Washington Award by IMPACT and The Loop, Top 25 Women in Power Impacting Diversity Award by DiversityPlus Magazine and Women of Leadership and Power Award by MEA Magazine. Mrs. Marcus is happily married, with a twin son and daughter.
