Adobe Announces Sensei Integration for Magento
November 11, 2019 – – The recent MagentoLive customer conference in the city of Amsterdam, in The Netherlands, included some important news regarding the future of the Magento platform after it was acquired by Adobe a year and a half ago. Magento is an ecommerce platform which is aimed at small to midsize businesses, such as online kitchen supplies seller Sunsella. Magento, which is written in the scripting language PHP. PHP, which stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, was originally created to use in web development, and is still used for many well known websites, such as those which use the platform WordPress, and video-sharing site PornHub.
Since being purchased by Adobe, Magento has been a part of the Adobe Experience Cloud, an all in one, cloud-based marketing and commerce solution from software company Adobe. Adobe, which originally focused on software for media and creative purposes, such as the ever-popular Photoshop, has more recently been exploring the digital marketing and analytics space as well, with their Experience Cloud suite. Magento is recognized as a top ecommerce platform by a number of relevant bodies and several industry lists, and it already has a vast community of users and developers around the world who all shape the experience of what Magento is and the roadmap for the product.
In addition to Magento, Adobe also has an AI product called Sensei, which uses artificial intelligence to assist in many parts of the creative and marketing processes. Adobe has integrated Sensei into a number of their products, since, as an AI product, it has a wide variety of applications. The basic gist of Sensei is that it automates the mundane and repetitive tasks across the board, allowing for creative work to express more creativity and marketing and data analytics work to focus more on the actual analysis of data or finding marketing insights and making decisions about advertising campaigns and the like. It can help with the handling of documents, something that any business has to deal with often, with its content intelligence and ability to recognize when forms need fillable fields to speed up the creation of forms of documents. It also has added a lot of efficiency to the process of taking photographs of documents to scan them, using what it has learned as an AI to process the photographs into scanned documents even if the photo isn’t perfect quality or exactly square.
In the case of marketing and ecommerce platforms, Sensei, which is a Japanese word for a respected mentor or teacher, can be used to intelligently analyze advertising data and provide insights around which techniques are working and producing results and which marketing strategies are not. This can be super useful for any company looking to improve the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and ecommerce website without wasting money and time on strategies that are not effective at earning site visits or converting visitors to customers.
Mike Law, a representative for Sunsella, weighed in on the story. “It’s really exciting to see up and coming technologies like artificial intelligence making an appearance in the ecommerce world. I’m looking forward to seeing what technology like this one from Adobe can do to in the future help small companies like Sunsella make the most of their platforms and data to allow for successful business.”
