After Local Authorities Rescue Injured Construction Worker, Personal Injury Lawyer Makes Comment Regarding Safety Measures

July 14, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman recently made a statement regarding construction safety after a New Jersey worker was rescued by authorities. Moverman stated that falls such as these are far too common and that the safety of workers should continue to be a top priority.

NorthJersey.com reported in late June that authorities were called to a construction site at the PSE&G substation on Patterson Street to help the 52-year-old man. Reports indicated that he had fallen into a 15-foot trench while doing work at the location. Authorities had to rescue him by first stabilizing his leg injury and pulling him up using ropes and a ladder truck. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Though the most common forms of injury in the construction business include slips, trips and falls, accidents including electrocution, and being stuck between objects or struck by them, accounted for over half of construction worker deaths in 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The OSHA reported that more than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry and that one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014 were in the construction industry.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman have long been representing victims of construction accidents. The firm is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident and qualifying individuals may be entitled to financial compensation. They have successfully obtained millions in settlements for victims and strongly believe in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. In one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding.

“My clients’ lives and families are the most important aspect of what I do. I hope the lawsuits that I bring and the results I obtain will allow them to try to restore themselves both physically and personally,” said Moverman of the firm’s efforts.
