Carmelo the Science Fellow and Carmelo Piazza are pleased to announce that they offer interesting and reliable after school care for youngsters in Brooklyn. The after school programs are categorized according to age group. There is a pre-Kindergarten group, a Kindergarten through second grade group and a Third through Fifth Grade group. The care provided is reliable and is interesting for the children who are cared for. The programs offered by the two locations include a playgroup for ages two to three, birthday parties, the Prez’s Day Camp, Spring Break Camp and Summer Camp.
The professional team offers the best daycare in Brooklyn, with everything a science kid could possibly need to experiment, learn, laugh and grow. The professionals know that kids learn science by doing science. Everything that is done at the centers is hands-on and interactive. It is always entertaining and provides a fun way to learn about a range of topics, ranging from magnetic levitation to rubber-band powered cars to glow-in-the-dark slime.
Founder, Carmelo Piazza has been teaching science in an entertaining way for nearly two decades. In 2005 he opened what is now the Laboratory of Fun in order to offer science-based programs of his own design. The science camps, after-school programs, playgroups, birthday parties, and mini-camps offer an entertaining and educational mix of hands-on instruction, green slime and lizards, and kid-tested humor. Carmelo is the author of “Crazy for Science with Carmelo the Science Fellow, a book of at-home experiments that promote scientific observation, exploration, and analysis for young children. He also hosts a popular series of YouTube experiments.
The Brooklyn Preschool of Science in Cobble Hill was opened in 2013. A second Park Slope location was opened two years later. The principles of the programs include leading with kindness and respect, great science projects, personal attention, diverse and welcoming atmosphere, an engaged and passionate staff and strong partnership with parents.
